What to do in case of a Claim?

First of all it is important to know of which product you would like to report a claim.

In addition, it is important if the correspondence takes place through your broker or directly with Hienfeld. You may easily check this by finding out to whom you pay the premium. You need to send in the claim form to the party to whom you pay the premium.

Products:

Accident claim:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible. The claim must be reported as soon as possible. In case of a fatal accident the claim must also be reported by telephone or electronically not later than 48 hours before the funeral or cremation.

Travel claim:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible. Also enclose all invoices referring to the claim.
In case of loss or theft you must also enclose a proof of the report to the police.
If there is a question of damage (also) send in the repair bill.
Also follow all instructions in the claim form. The underwriters reserve the right to call in a loss adjuster at all times.

Incompletely filled in claim forms are not being dealt with.

Cancellation or interruption of journey:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible.
In case of cancellation you should also send the following in addition to the claim form:

  • Invoice of the original booking;
  • The invoice of the cancellation costs of the agent where the journey was booked and cancelled;
  • Any proof of the reason for cancellation.

In case of interruption of the journey you should also send in the following in addition to the claim form:

  • Invoice of the original booking;
  • Any proof of the premature return and the reason for the interruption;
  • In case of admission to hospital, the proof from which such admission appears.

Incompletely filled in claim forms are not being dealt with.

Career Stop claim:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible. The claim must be reported as soon as possible. In case of a claim with a fatal result the claim must also be reported by telephone or electronically not later than 48 hours before the funeral or cremation.

Liability claim:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible. In addition the written notification of liability from the party sustaining the loss must be sent in. Never accept liability without the underwriters’ approval and do not pay the claim to the third party. In case of liability the claim will be settled directly with the third party. The underwriters reserve the right to call in a loss adjuster at all times.

Fire claim:

Fill in the claim form as completely as possible. Enclose all documents of importance, such as invoices, report to the police, and the like. The underwriters reserve the right to call in a loss adjuster at all times.
